Sharp are manufacturing some fantastic TVs at the moment but I feel as though they get overlooked as a manufacturer, it must be hard battling against the big guns like Sony and Samsung. I am going to give you my top 5 Sharp TV’s on the market at the moment.
My top 5 Sharp TVs are the 32 Inch LC32FH510E, 42 Inch LC42CT2E, 32 Inch LC32CT2E, 52 Inch LC52LE700E and the 32 Inch LC32LE700E.
My first choice the LC32FH510E, brilliant in the sense of what technology it carries. Not only does it have full 1080p resolution and a contrast ratio of 25000:1 but it has USB Record Time Shift. In other words it has its own built in hard drive so you can stop, pause and rewind live TV. It also boasts USB media player for MP3, JPEG and Video and built in Freeview.
Second choice has to be the LC42CT2E. Again, this is Full HD 1080p with a contrast ratio of 50000:1 but carries integrated Freeview HD. Easy on the eye and generally easy on the wallet, I would say that this is a great 2nd place winner.
Coming in 3rd position is the LC32CT2E. Differing slightly compared to the others as this 32 Inch has both integrated Freeview and Freeview HD. It carries CCFL Backlighting which creates fantastic life-like images, crisp full colours and fantastic detail which you would not get with regular Freeview. You can also double this great TV up as a monitor as well when you want to view your precious photo memories.
In a respectable 4th place is the huge LC52LE700E. This is LED backlit with LCD screen, because of this you can experience a much more immense viewing experience. Colours are much more vibrant and deeper with LED backlit TVs therefore you are going to get a much more detailed picture and a more enjoyable viewing experience along with the integrated Freeview. Also boasting 100Hz technology and ECO button and ECO picture control – therefore, lower power consumption!
Rounding up in 5th place is the LC32LE700E. This is basically the mini version of the LC52LE700E and has all the same mod-cons and technology as it’s 52 Inch cousin. To be honest this and the 52 Inch come a joint 4th/5th as they are the same TV just in different sizes – it’s just a matter of size preference with these two.
Whatever choice you make, I can guarantee it will be the right one with a Sharp, as said before, they are producing some fantastic TVs at the moment which are becoming increasingly popular within the consumer marketplace.

TVs don’t last forever. This probably isn’t news to you, but TVs break, become obsolete and generally fall out of favour all the time. When this happens, the question then becomes ‘what do I do with my old TV when I want a new one?’ It seems a bit of a shame to just toss away the picture box that’s been so loyal to you down the years, which is why Sony are encouraging you to give your old TV a brand new home. Sony trade in is a unique scheme that lets you use your dusty old set to knock money off a brand new piece of kit! Sounds good doesn’t it? That’s because it is! Don’t suffer the mess of having your old TV lying round unwanted, because with Sony trade in you can put it to good use and save yourself a packet at the same time.
“How does it work?” we hear you cry. Well, it’s simple! All you have to do is take your old TV with you when you go to get a new one, and as long as you’re getting a shiny new Sony you’ll be able to take advantage of the Sony trade in. Now your old TV becomes a discount card for your new one! Don’t worry if your old TV is broken, damaged, or just generally rubbish; the Sony trade in rules apply regardless of the age and quality of the TV – as long as you physically bring in some form of TV you’ll be able to claim a massive discount on your next set!
The Sony trade in offer isn’t available on every Sony TV, so it’s worth checking before you wander down to the shop lugging your hefty old box. Saying that, the Sony trade in offer does apply to the majority of Sony’s newest and best TV s, meaning you can save up to £150 off some of the best TVs on the market! If that’s not a bargain, we don’t know what is.
We’ve got some excitement this week on LCD TV Reviews, with our review of the first 3D TV to hit the market, the Panasonic TX-P50VT20 Freeview HD Plasma 3D TV. Striding ahead of the competition, Panasonic are one of the first manufacturers to get a 3D TV on the market, and we’ve managed to get our hands on one. The first thing to consider is that this Panasonic 3D TV is a plasma, which makes it slightly different from both LCD and LED TVs. Plasma TVs, because of the picture technology, should in theory provide a more effective 3D effect, meaning this Panasonic Plasma should be the best available at the minute.
Most obviously, this Panasonic 3D TV is huge; at 50 inches it’s more than large enough to deliver a truly stunning cinematic experience into your living room. Just because your TV is 3D capable, you shouldn’t have to sacrifice picture quality, and with the Panasonic 3D TV you don’t; it’s got a Full HD 1080p resolution so the action will blast out of the screen with unmatched clarity and detail. Though the glasses don’t come with the TV, it’s well worth investing in a couple of pairs for you and your mates. The 3D effect on this TV is truly astounding, and it’ll have you ducking and diving around your front room trying to avoid the objects flying at your out of the screen. You might have experienced 3D in the cinema, but this Panasonic 3D TV takes it to the next level.
Obviously it needs to function as a TV in its own right alongside the 3D capabilities, and it does this admirably. It’s the only TV to come with dual digital tuners, offering you both Freesat HD and Freeview HD in the same package, so you’ll be able to watch all your favourite shows in stunning high definition from the moment you switch on. If you want to enjoy stunning 3D pictures right now, then choose the Panasonic 3D TV.
Last time we took a close look at the top 5 LG TVs – this week we’re taking the next logical step and having an even closer look at the top 5 Panasonic TVs on the market today. 1. Topping our list of Panasonic TVs is this enormous 50 inch Panasonic Plasma TV. It’s one of the first Panasonic 3D TVs on the market, and will deliver an amazing 3D experience right there in your living room. – TX-P50VT20B

Whilst choosing a TV from the sea of models out there may seem intimidating, we can break it down for you into two simple categories; LCD TV or Plasma TV. On the outside these two appear very similar and they essentially do the same job, the difference is the technology they employ to do that job. If you’re not an engineer or a rocket scientist then that technology isn’t going to mean much to you, what you need to know is the difference you’ll see when you put them to use.
The deciding factor in choosing either an LCD or Plasma TV is size; if you’re looking for a TV that’s 32” or under then you’ll get the best performance from an LCD, any bigger than that and you want a Plasma. There are other slight differences, such as Plasma TVs giving a deeper black, and LCD TVs being slightly cheaper, but the main concern is size. Join the HD revolution and get an LCD TV or Plasma TV now.
One new innovation within the LCD TV range is LED backlighting, which sounds complex but it really isn’t. Basically, the screen on an LCD TV is lit from behind so you can actually see the picture, and this is done in a range of different ways depending on the TV. With an LED backlit LCD TV though the screen is lit by a panel of small bright lights and this gives your TV a wider viewing angle, impressive brightness and a far deeper black. If you want to be at the forefront of LCD technology, experiencing the best pictures possible then an LED TV is ideal. Because this is a new innovation not all LCD TVs come with it, but to have a look at which ones do check out the manufacturer’s website.
Freeview, Freesat, Freedom
There hasn’t just been an advance in the way you watch, there’s been advances in what you watch too. With the digital revolution you’re no longer constrained by terrestrial TV, now you can enjoy far greater choice and even more of your favourite shows. The most common package available is Freeview, which comes either built-in to your TV or in the form of a set-top box. Whilst it’s likely that you’ve already been introduced to Freeview, you may not have heard of the latest progression, Freesat. This is a non-subscription service similar to Freeview which allows you to receive fantastic HD programming through a satellite dish, without having to pay the sometimes hefty fees of subscription TV. Some TVs come with Freesat built-in making installation much easier.
Alongside the new Freesat service are Freesat recorders, which work in a similar way to Sky+ but for a fraction of the price. With a Freesat recorder you can record and store all of your favourite programs in stunning HD. You won’t have to worry about missing programs that clash either, as you can record two programmes simultaneously. If one of you wants to watch the football and the other Coronation Street then a Freesat recorder can end all the arguments.
Though it may seem like DVD technology hasn’t been around 5 minutes, in today’s ever-evolving technological world there’s no time to stand still. Blu-ray is the newest advancement in this format, offering up to 5 times more storage space than a DVD along with the ability to hold HD video. Just think of it like the step-up from CD to DVD; Blu-ray is the next rung of the technological ladder.
To experience the awesome quality of Blu-ray you need a Blu-ray player. You don’t have to worry about all your old DVDs becoming redundant though, as our Blu-ray players are compatible with the old format too. To experience your favourite films and TV programmes in stunning HD whenever you want you need a blu-ray player.
